Lemony Ginger Tea

Studies have shown lemon and ginger (alone or together) to help with a whole host of things such as:  immunity, weight loss, arthritis, digestive issues, etc., etc.

In fact, there are so many benefits, I like to recommend this as a terrific way to start the day, every day!

If you are someone who just can’t drink this tea without a little sweet, try using stevia or coconut sugar (both lower glycemic sweeteners), but use the smallest amount needed to make it drinkable for you.  I personally add no sweetener, which is, of course, what I recommend.

Honey is incredibly healthy when it’s raw (anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial) and many use it to sweeten their teas.  This is okay, IF, you add it after the tea has cooled. It should be no more than luke warm when tested with a finger.

According to Ayurvedic texts, when heated over 95 degrees (the temperature of a hive), honey becomes a detriment to the body instead of a benefit.   So, if you are using honey to boost your immunity, it would be much better to take it as a supplement, separate from your tea.

Enjoy!
